Special Educational Needs and Disability Information
Welcome to Special Educational Needs at Our Lady of Mount Carmel
At Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Primary School we are committed to ensuring that all children are known, valued and supported. We work closely with families and external professionals to ensure that children with additional needs are able to thrive both academically and emotionally.

If you are concerned about your child
If you have concerns about your child’s learning or development, please speak to your child’s class teacher in the first instance. If further support is needed, the teacher will involve the SENDCo and work with you to decide the best way forward.
Parents can also contact the SENDCo through the school office.

Neurodevelopment pathway
We can support families in accessing the Somerset Neurodevelopmental Pathway for assessment of conditions such as Autism or ADHD. We also support families to access the Right to Choose pathway for ASD or ADHD assessments.
Military children
Our school also welcomes children from military families, and we recognise that service life can sometimes bring additional emotional or social challenges. We work to ensure these children feel secure, included and supported.
