Headteacher's Welcome

A very warm welcome awaits you at our school.  We hope you will see that we are a busy but friendly school, with lots of learning and fun. This website aims to give you just a taste of the school, as well as providing regular updated information for both parents and pupils. Do take a regular look at our site so that you know about all the exciting things that are happening.

Our Lady’s is a very special place. We are a school where everyone works hard to encourage children to enjoy learning, achieve their best, behave well, support each other and grow in confidence. We aim to help children to grow into confident, talented and articulate young people. In our school we seek to meet the needs of each individual child. We celebrate diversity and teach children to recognise and respect people’s differences as well as similarities. Our Lady’s recognises the significant role of parents/carers and special guardians in helping their children to progress and greatly values the contributions parents/carers and special guardians make to the life of the school.

We are proud to be part of The Dunstan Catholic Education Trust which was incorporated on the 1st March 2022.  The Trust consists of 10 schools serving the Catholic Diocese of Clifton.

Our school values underpin all aspects of school life and our children's personal and spiritual development as human beings.  Our school values are:-

LOVE, RESPECT, FORGIVENESS, CURIOSITY, RESILIENCE AND STEWARDSHIP.

Our children understand their rights and responsibilities as global citizens.  This is the children’s school; their voice is the most important one here.  This growth of the children’s independent spirit can be seen in all aspects of school life.  They may be a school Chaplain, a member of Pupil Council, Digital Leaders, a buddy to an EYFS pupil, busy organising Prayer and Liturgy class reflection, helping with fundraising events and more!

Our school is committed to developing children as Global Citizens and it is through our exciting curriculum, RE curriculum, School Values and Vision and our Catholic Social Teaching Principles  that we strive to give them the opportunities to achieve this goal.

Please do read about our Values and Catholic Social Teaching (Our Values and Ethos).

We look forward to providing our children with a rich and stimulating learning experience this year through the new curriculum we have developed. We are looking at extending our themed days and weeks and also providing a range of experiences that will engage and encourage the children to become active learners and lead their own learning experiences.

If you are a prospective parent/carer/special guardian, we hope you will find lots of the information you need to enable you to make those important decisions about your child's new school. Please do not hesitate to contact us and make an appointment to visit and see the school in action.

Thank you for visiting and visit again soon.
